Fall is one of the best times to enjoy Niagara wines, and what better time to try them than during the 63rd Annual Niagara Wine Festival? This year’s festivities begin in Montebello Park on September 19th and continue on the 20th, 21st, 26th, 27th and 28th. Here are some of the events you can enjoy this September in wine country:
Fire up the grill! Running from September 13, 14, 20, 21, 27 & 28, from 11am to 5pm, enjoy some BBQ at the Sue-Ann Staff Estate Winery. Enjoy a turkey burger under the trees, or a veggie burger on the porch. For more information, check out http://www.niagarawinefestival.com/event/fire-up-the-grill.
Taste of the Harvest. This annual event is run by Hospice Niagara, and offers attendees live entertainment, and the opportunity to try local cuisine and participate in a silent auction. Tickets are $100, and the event takes place on September 13. Call 905-984-8766 to reserve your tickets today.
75th Anniversary of “The Grapes of Wrath”. This exhibition features 24 original oil paintings inspired by passages from “The Grapes of Wrath” in honour of the novels’ 75th anniversary. Fall into Wine Country. The Pondview Estates Winery has their patio open all fall, and you can also try their new Signature Chocolate Ice-wine Shooter. For more information, http://www.pondviewwinery.com.
Pick, Stomp & Taste. Flat Rock Cellars is offering you the opportunity to stomp your way through the 2014 vintage. Hand-pick grapes from the 80 acre vineyard, jump into a barrel and stomp around!
