Tips for a Safe New Years Eve

New Years Limo Rental - Gem Limo

New Year’s is a pretty special time. It promises a new year and new opportunities every twelve months. Make sure you start 2014 off on the right foot by having a safe new year’s eve. Here are a few tips to make sure you and your family and friends enjoy a safe new year’s eve.

Dress for the weather. It’s always fun to dress up on New Year’s, and a lot of us get dolled up for a night on the town. But don’t forget to top off that great outfit with a warm coat, scarf and mitts. You don’t want to start the New Year off sick!

Arrange for safe transportation.  Don’t allow yourself, or anyone that you know to drink and drive this New Year ’s Eve. Arrange for alternative transportation, either by renting a limo, calling a cab, or arranging for a designated driver. No one wants to start the New Year in the ER, or in jail.

Don’t leave your drinks unattended. If you are going to be spending new year’s at a party, or in a club or restaurant, make sure that you or someone you trust is watching your drinks at all times to ensure that no one has an opportunity to slip anything into them.

Carry only what you need. In all the hubbub of the evening, your purse or wallet could get lost, or even worse, stolen. Carry only what you need for the evening-your ID, some cash, and one debit or credit card.

Charge your phone. You never know when you will need your phone throughout the evening-you may need to find your friends, call for a ride, or even call 9-1-1. There is nothing worse than needing your phone only to realise it’s dead. Make sure to charge it before the evening starts, and if you and a few friends have the same phone, consider having someone carry a charger.

We at Gem Limo want to wish you, you and your family and friends a safe, happy, and healthy new year. Happy 2014 everyone!
